El Encargado is a dark comedy that follows Eliseo, a building superintendent who uses and abuses his power to keep tabs on the tenants in his building. Eliseo knows everything about his neighbors: their names, schedules, jobs, bonds, weaknesses, and tastes. Knowledge is his power. But underneath his obliging and submissive appearance, hides a very talented schemer.
El Encargado continues with its typical sarcasm, dry wit and comedy, offering a critical perspective on the social dynamics of its many characters — always from Eliseo’s unyielding point of view.
