An impressively dark, brooding single from this Leeds four piece, who display their literary credentials by quoting Philip Larkin’s most famous line of poetry (“They fuck you up your Mum and Dad…”) next to towering guitars that would have made The God Machine proud.
This EP also features the sardonic “Bends”-era Radiohead of THE CHOSEN, the skewed ON A ROLL, and the sprawling HORIZON, which sounds not dissimilar to long-forgotten indie types Mega City Four with sporadic Eastern overtones. It’s an attractive combination.
There’s also an expletive-deleted Radio Edit of WE GROW UP – hopefully its inclusion isn’t wishful thinking on the band’s part, as the track definitely deserves some airplay.
