Single Review by Mark Bayross
Ween’s latest album WHITE PEPPER surprised quite a few people with its variety and maturity, not least me. After all, these are the guys who seemed unable to make a record without inducing a bout of tourette’s. Heck, their next video is going to be directed by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of SOUTH PARK.
STAY FOREVER, the first single from WHITE PEPPER, is one of the album’s more innocuous tracks. It’s a jaunty, catchy 3½ minute melody, as harmless and middle-of-the-road as the Beautiful South, without a subversive bone in its twangy, love-struck body.
Am I being thick here? The Ween boys must be taking the piss, surely?
