Single Review by Mark Bayross
As 28 Days singer Jay Dunne told me in a recent PHASE9 interview, RIP IT UP is about “fuck all”. Well, lyrically that may be true, but it’s also the sound of 28 Days going for a proper, bona fide hit single on this side of the hemisphere after last year’s KID INDESTRUCTIBLE EP.
While our favourite skate punk Aussies go hell for leather on the title track, they spend the duration of the B-sides…doing exactly the same. If it ain’t broke, I guess…
THE RIGHT PLACE does feature some nifty scratching from Jedi Master Jay, but, in essence, this is just a damn good, no frills, hip-hop-hardcore collision. You’ll have as much fun listening to this as they seem to have had making it.
