Music Review by Mark Bayross
This limited edition box set does pretty much what it says on the front, in that it celebrates the 25th Anniversary of French electronic legends Trisomie 21.
The release incorporates “Rendezvous En France”, a live recording from the band’s recent “Happy Mystery Tour”, serving as something of a ‘Best Of’ collection from this last quarter-century. The second disc “Vintage Rarities” collects 13 rare and unreleased tracks and demos from the band’s early days (between 1978 and 1981), as well as seven live tracks recorded in Lille including the rare favourites JAKARTA and BREAKING DOWN.
There is something of a minimalist early EBM feel to these songs and the live album doesn’t enjoy earth-shattering sound quality, so I would guess that this is one for the fans only – but for that select group, this is probably nigh on essential.
