Now on Beggars Banquet, Tindersticks have returned with not one, but two, soundtrack projects. Their score to Claire Denis’s new film TROUBLE EVERY DAY will see the light of day later this year, but for now, they have released this limited edition 7” and CD.
A cover of the Four Tops song, WHAT IS A MAN has also been used as the theme to the TV series THE SINS, starring Pete Postlethwaite. Produced by Lambchop’s Mark Nevers, the song retains much of the feel of the original, with a light-hearted, almost cabaret feel set against the soul-searching lyrics.
The song comes backed by an instrumental and, with the single clocking in at a mere five minutes in total, you could describe it as very limited indeed. One for fans of the band or the TV series, really.
