Single Review by Mark Bayross The closing song from their OUTLAW album is classic Alabama 3 – country guitars, bubbling electronics and more gospel than a Bible Belt Sunday school. A more subdued affair than some of their singles, but still a joyous three and a half minutes.
Single Review by Mark Bayross The Brixton-based collective Alabama 3 is one of those unique bands which defies lazy categorisation, and for that we should be thankful. Peddling gospel-tinged country rock, but laced with an undercurrent of trip-hop menace, Alabama 3 are the sound of South London via Nashville. If you are one of Single Review by Mark Bayross More joyous countrified-gospel-rock from the Nashville-via-Brixton collective that is Alabama 3. WADE INTO THE WATER demonstrates the band at their feelgood best – electrifying guitars, guest vocals from Eileen Rose and Bobby Valentino, and, of course, Larry Love’s faux-Yank croon.
