Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger
When I first pushed play on the CD I started to think I wasn’t going to like this one. It wasn’t instant appeal, but I listened as the album started to build and it got my interest.
The press release quotes Starsailor’s James Walsh as saying they wanted it to sound somewhere between JEFF BUCKLEY’s ‘Grace’ and NEIL YOUNG’s ‘Harvest’. I couldn’t help thinking back to The Eagles. In fact, one track POOR MISGUIDED FOOL is similar to HOTEL CALIFORNIA and is easily the best track on the album.
I think you’ve got to be in the right mood for this album and to really appreciate it you need to pay attention to it, it’s not background music. It won’t be everyone taste but it’s certainly worth a listen.
