Single Review by Mark Bayross
LOW WATT GLOW is the debut single from London-based Stag. Produced by Julian Standen (Lemonheads, Soup Dragons), it’s a nicely upbeat rush of Pixies-inspired jangly indie pop that, while catchy enough, has very little to help it stand out from the crowd.
The single is backed by the shuffling shanty of BEFORE I GET OLD and the rockier-but-still-stuck-
in-the-early-90s THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY, both songs that while only 3½ minutes long, seem a hell of a lot longer.
That name doesn’t help much, either.
