EP Review by Mark Bayross
Following on from their recent UNDER THE CITY EP, Aberdeen’s The Needles have another short, sharp set of spiky punk tunes for you all to bounce around to.
There’s not a lot to choose between the title track and B-sides PANIC ON EASY STREET and THE HURT – spazzed out drums, raucous guitars and yelping vocals give these songs an irresistible sense of urgency infused with melody, albeit without much you haven’t heard before.
Of more interest is the Lynchian slo-mo dance hall freakiness that is BEAUTIFUL DREAM, if only for charm of its incongruity.
