Album Review by EDF
There are times when you put on a new CD and you just want to be impressed – every once in a while is not asking too much. From the opening seconds of this Josh Zuckerman album, you will be impressed and more. Josh grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and started playing the violin from the age of eight. Then rock ānā roll music took his interest later in life and after playing in several groups, he eventually settled in New Jersey which somehow has done his music some good.
The title track opens the album with a burst of commercial rock music that somehow sounds fresh and different at the same time. It might have something to do with the unexpected trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone and sax solo and somehow it works. Of course with all good musicianship should come good lyrics and again Josh has no problem in this department. In fact, his lyrics are so good that it does ask a number of questions when relationships become the subject on some of these songs. I always believe that you should not find answers with the first play of an album and Josh has managed this with an intriguing album that bursts out with tons of energy.
