This is the first single from forthcoming third album GOD AND MONSTERS and it’s business as usual for the Mancunian trio, with its gentle guitar, sweetly tuneful bass and Johnny Bramwell’s understated vocal delivery.
B-sides GREAT ESCAPE and JUNK CULTURE strangely remind me of an acoustic Carter USM – maybe that’s down to the wry lyrics (“You want to learn to live like an aristocrat/ but your girlfriend’s earrings soon put a stop to that”).
The CD single also comes with the animated video that’s as low key and lo-fi as the song. Unspectacular, but maybe they are saving the drama for the album.
