Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger
A new group from the UK, this all girl band sound like they should come from the US, except they have English accents!
This is their first album and they have already had 2 hit singles released in the UK, I QUIT and BUGS. Both tracks are on the album , and both have lyrics about freedom and not being part of the system or pushed around in a dead end life. A theme which has been sung about before, but hey don’t worry, Hepburn make it sound fresh again. That guitar sound, voices with energy, and yes they look very good, (we mean gorgeous, but we’re feeling shy today).
Unfortunately their drummer actually did say “I quit” recently , may be all the TV appearances, life on the road, and all that, wasn’t the life she wanted to pursue, it’s not for everyone. This won’t hold Hepburn back though, it’s just a little turbulence on their ride to the big time.
They have now re-filmed a new video for I QUIT and are releasing it in the US. Apparently, as part of the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER TV series soundtrack album, plus a video with Buffy and Vampires, what more could any band possibly want. By the way we think Buffy The Vampire Slayer is the coolest series on TV, so that’s the seal of approval right there.
We really do like the album a lot, so much so that we went out and bought the album as the record company in the UK didn’t bother to send us a copy to preview.
We don’t regret it a bit and suggest you do the same, it’s worth it, and we look forward to hearing more from Hepburn soon.
