Album Review by Mark Bayross
New York-based Brit-American combo Five O’Clock Heroes offer, this, another Eli Janney-produced album for your consideration, and it’s not a huge move forward but is at least a decent listen.
With songs like ANYBODY HOME mining a familiar ska-punk vibe, there is something of an eighties feel to the album, especially as the likes of RUN TO HER and NUMBER AGAIN can’t help but remind me of The Police.
It’s all very upbeat and catchy, although not desperately original or distinctive. Things do get a little more interesting towards the end with STAY THE NIGHT and last year’s single WHITE GIRLS, but some people may have stopped listening by then.
