Single Review by Mark Bayross
Clayhill emerged earlier this year with the mini-album CUBAN GREEN and this single, from the forthcoming debut album, serves to further raise their stock. The song shares its name with a short film by Shane Meadows, for which Clayhill have provided the soundtrack, and somehow manages to evoke a mixture of melancholy and hope.
Gavin Clark’s nasal whine may take a bit of getting used to, but the song’s combination of warm electronics, strummed guitars and an addictive chorus is highly effective at getting under the skin.
