Someone To Tell is the major label debut album from the critically-acclaimed rock singer-songwriter Ari Hest
Much like his heroes in their younger days, Hest has been steadily building a reputation as both a potent performer and formidable songwriter through his indie catalog, especially 2002’s Story After Story, and galvanizing live performances. “The gravelly-voiced singer-songwriter may be only 24,” wrote the Chicago Sun Times (November 14, 2003), “but he’s created a substantial songbook filled with soulful acoustic rock songs.”
“Performing for people and the ensuing travel provides me with a lot of the inspiration and certainly some of the motivation to write my music,” says Hest. “I’m also earning my commercial driver’s license with all the driving I’m doing in my van–maybe there’s an 18-wheeler in my episode of ‘Cribs’ someday.”
Over the past four years, Hest has sold more than 20,000 albums (2 LP’s, 1 EP) at his live performances and online and performed at more than 700 shows, either as a headliner at college campuses and clubs across the country or in support of national touring artists including Guster, O.A.R., Maroon 5, and Jason Mraz. With growing fan-bases in numerous cities across the country, Hest has developed a nationwide street team of more than 1,000 dedicated fans who help promote his shows and his music.
