Album Review by Nigel A. Messenger
Just in time for Christmas comes the release of YOUNG LUST: THE AEROSMITH ANTHOLOGY – The Geffen Years. The album is a two disc set appropriately – for Aerosmith – the discs are named left disc and right disc with a picture of a bra on the back of the package labelled left and right (get it?). I’m not sure if the bra is labelled left or right as you look at it or……ok I guess that’s not really important, but it does surmise the whole Aerosmith image nicely.
Musically we get all the famous hits and more. The trademark breakthrough WALK THIS WAY with Run DMC plus DUDE (LOOKS LIKE A LADY), JANIE’S GOT A GUN, LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR – I could go on but you might as well just read the track listing.
There is also a nice booklet with a mini history of Aerosmith. Most fans will know the facts here but it’s nice to have it with the album anyway.
Obviously as with any ‘greatest hits’ type album you have to like the artist or know someone you want to buy a gift for to go and buy it but whoever gets this will certainly be pleased with the mix of hits, rarities and live tracks featured.
And then there’s the cheeky packaging……well this is Aerosmith!
