Movie Review by Nigel A. Messenger
It’s summer 1988 in Indiana and there has been a spate of ritualistic murders. Three pretty girls on their way to a heavy metal gig meet three guys in a van and take them back to their home to continue to party.
So what do you think is going to happen? Maybe not quite what you expect. We Summon The Darkness comes with a nice twist and it happens so early on in the movie that it won’t spoil anything to tell you that it’s the girls who are the danger and the guys are in for a terrifying night.
All the cast put in good performances and the film is paced nicely with a 91 minutes running time. Alexandra Daddario is almost over the top but it works really well for the movie and Maddie Hasson is just totally crazy and constantly needing to pee, she really is very funny and I hope to see her in a lot more in the future.
All in all We Summon The Darkness is an unexpected and fun film, completely underrated I’m sure, but nevertheless a very enjoyable watch.
