Movie Review by Neils Hesse
Starring: Chris Albrecht, Jason Alexander, Hank Azaria, Shelley Berman
Director: Paul Provenza
Ever hear the one about a family act who turn up at a talent agent’s office and end up giving him quite literally the show of his life? Well everyone from Robin Williams, Whoppi Goldberg, Eddie Izzard, Billy Connolly and Chris Rock to those hilariously crude inhabitants of South Park have heard it and boy do they love it!
This effort from director and comedian Paul Provenza is essentially a collection of video clips of famous comedians each putting their own individual spin on the infamous joke that is sort of legendary in comedic circles.
I must admit that I didn’t get it for the first five minutes but once I grasped the whole concept behind the joke I was roaring with laughter for most of the remainder of the film.
The collection of comedians here is awesome, really amazing, so as long as you give the film a chance to understand the joke and you are ready to listen to some very, very crude stories then this is just what you have been waiting for.
It might not work for everyone, but it is absolutely hilarious!
