This track may have stood out on Lawrence, Kansas duo The Belles’ album OMERTA thanks to the Bowieisms of its intro, but it works rather well as a single, sounding rather more catchy and dynamic in isolation.
The song comes backed by a not-too-dissimilar remix from tour-mate Magnet and a cover of the Lemonheads’ MY DRUG BUDDY that got me nostalgic for early nineties plaid-rock.
Not recommended listening for borderline suicide cases, but the rest of us will find much to enjoy in the downbeat charm on offer here.
