Released on Dangerous Records, home to the first two Muse EPs, and produced by Sawmills (Muse, Supergrass), this four track EP is one to add to The Needles’ growing singles collection and serves as an entertaining preview of their forthcoming debut album.
At three minutes long, the title track is the longest one here – a spiky, power chord-strewn punk-pop statement of intent that sounds not unlike the Undertones. The fuzzpop continues with BACK WHERE I BELONG, while JOHNNY VICTORY gets comparatively epic before returning to the more conventional headlong rush of TEENAGE BOMB.
Pretty solid stuff, and with the current musical fashion for no-frills guitar riffery, the time to get that album out is now.
