Single Review by Mark Bayross
In my review of Magnet’s album THE TOURNIQUET, I mention that putting this song at the beginning was a bit of a shame as the rest of the album, excellent though it is, can’t match it. Well, it has also been released as a single…
HOLD ON is a magnificent four minutes of surging strings, skittish beats and warm, spine-tingling electronics, actually the perfect choice for a cinematic comeback single. It is backed by the fairytale funfair ride of THE MUTE, pretty ballad GOOD MORNING and the Talk Talk-meets-spaghetti western oddity of GRINDER.
An interesting, eclectic release, even without taking into consideration the majesty of the A-side. Get this.
