Album Review by EDF
Born and raised on a farm in Pennsylvania, Maggie Austin grew up breeding show horses and indulged in singing country songs while working around the farm. Even though there are six tracks on this release, Austin manages to select the best tracks that not only shows a lot of promise, her approach to these songs have a reassuring and warm tone to them.
The title track TIME AND AGAIN moves along at a gentle toe tapping pace and offers up a slight hint of the late Kirsty MacColl. TAKING TIME is the regret that Austin’s lover has moved on and it sounds like she is still trying to make sense of it all. The upbeat TOUCHDOWN and KISS ME is the sort of tunes that will get your feet tapping along. Austin slows the pace down with a cover of the FAITH HILL song BREATH and does a decent job of the track. TAKING TIME is probably the least country sounding song on this collection and best showcases Austin’s pleasant lyrics. All that is needed now is for Maggie Austin to get signed up and to release a full-length album but for now this collection of songs will have to do.
