SPINNING AROUND relaunches Kyle’s music career this time round with Parlophone Records. It is also the first release from her forthcoming album due for release in September 2000.
It is a great dance / pop single, very catchy, very danceable, and a certain top ten hit; probably number one. SPINNING AROUND is Kylie’s 27th UK single release, almost all at least top 20’s, the majority are top 10’s.
Kylie’s last album entitled KYLIE MINOGUE was released 2 years ago in 1998, and at the time people were still associating Kylie with her early ‘teenpopper’ hits, although this was extremely unfair as she was trying hard to shake off the old image. The album and singles released from it were excellent grown-up music. She also had some sell-out concerts that she obviously put a lot of work into and some amaziing music videos, one copying the classic spacecraft weightloss strip from the movie BARBARELLA with Kylie playing the Jane Fonda role.
Let’s hope the new album is as good as the last one. With a long list of respected song writers including Kylie, it seems promising and ‘Spinning Around’ is a great start.
